BHC - Coach & Manager Policy

1. All coaches (rostered and non-rostered) need to go to the USA Hockey site and register as a coach. There is a $40 fee for USA/MN Hockey, just like the players. All Coaches must complete this before the teams first practice.  If a coach is requesting to be reimbursed for the fee, that needs to be included in your team budget, it is not reimbursed by BHC.
   
   Team Managers will register as Managers on USA Hockey. There is no fee to register as a manager. If you will also be serving as on on-ice coach then you should register as a coach and not a manager.
   
   Once you have completed your registration as a coach or manager, please either print out your confirmation and place it in the Registrar box at Burnsville Ice Center, or forward by e-mail your confirmation to registrar@blazehockey.com.
   
2. Background screening is required for all adults involved in the program: coaches, lockerroom supervisors, managers, boardmembers, outside agencies and ANY ONE that comes in contact with skaters. 
   
   The Background screening is completed electronically through the Minnesota Hockey website. The process will take approximately 10 minutes.  You will need to sign on using your  Ngin/TST password if you have an account at the local, district or state level. If you do not have an account you will need to create one.
   
   Remember: we are District 6 and use the full association name. i.e. Burnsville NOT BHC.
   
   To use the program, follow these steps:
   
   1. www.minnesotahockey.org or click on the following link to be taken directly to the screeing page:   http://www.minnesotahockey.org/page/show/96281
   
   2. Click “General” on far right
   
   3. Click “Show All”
   
   4. Click “Screening”
   
   5. Click first option “Coaches Screening (Register)”
   
   6. Log in, or create log in
   
   7. Follow through all of the forms and submit.
   
   Once you have completed your background screeing as a coach or manager, please either print out your confirmation and place it in the Registrar box at Burnsville Ice Center, or forward by e-mail your confirmation to registrar@blazehockey.com.
